Accessibility Statement

Our Commitment to Digital Accessibility

Façade Creations Ltd is committed to providing an inclusive and accessible digital experience for all users of our website. As a specialist in the design and construction sector, we recognize the importance of accessibility both in the built environment and online. We comply with the Equality Act 2010’s requirement to make reasonable adjustments so that no user is disadvantaged due to disability. In practice, this means we strive to anticipate and accommodate the needs of people with disabilities in our website design and content, going beyond minimum compliance to ensure everyone can access our services.

Measures to Support Accessibility

We have implemented the following measures to support accessibility on our website:

  • Keyboard and Assistive Technology Navigation: The site is fully navigable using keyboard controls and is designed to work with common assistive technologies (screen readers, screen magnifiers, voice recognition software, etc.). Interactive elements can be operated without a mouse, and we avoid keyboard “traps” so that users can move through content easily.
  • Clear Structure and Consistent Layout: Content on our website is organized in a logical structure with clear headings and labels. We use consistent layouts and navigation across pages to make the site predictable and easy to understand for all users.
  • Readable Text and Contrast: We ensure text is readable by using sufficient color contrast between text and backgrounds and by supporting text resizing. Users can zoom in or increase font size up to 200% without loss of functionality. Our font choices and formatting are intended to be easily legible.
  • Browser and Device Compatibility: Our site is tested on modern web browsers and is designed to be responsive on various devices (desktop, mobile, tablet). We follow web standards for compatibility with assistive tools and older browsers where possible.

Additionally, we provide captions or transcripts for multimedia content wherever feasible and use alt text for images to convey information to users who cannot see visuals. Accessibility training is provided to our content authors and developers, and accessibility checks are part of our web development workflow.

Standards and Compliance Level

We are working towards full conformity with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, which is the internationally recognized standard for web accessibility. We also proactively consider the new guidelines in WCAG 2.2 to improve our website based on the latest accessibility criteria. Our goal is to meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 AA requirements (and relevant WCAG 2.2 success criteria) across our website.

At present, our website is partially compliant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. While most core features meet the standards, there are some known areas that need improvement (detailed below). We are addressing these through a rolling program of reviews and fixes, as part of our commitment to continuous improvement in accessibility.

(Note: Under the UK Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018, public sector websites must meet WCAG 2.1 AA (now moving toward WCAG 2.2 AA) and publish an accessibility statement. Façade Creations Ltd is a private company, but we voluntarily align with these regulations as best practice.)

Current Status and Known Limitations

We continuously audit and maintain our website to fix any accessibility issues that arise. However, we acknowledge that some parts of the website are not yet fully accessible or may pose challenges for certain users. For example:

  • Images and Documents: Some images or downloadable documents may not yet have adequate text alternatives (alt text or descriptions). This means users relying on screen readers might not get the full information from these visuals. We are reviewing all such content and adding appropriate alternative text.
  • Third-Party Content: Our site may include third-party embedded tools or videos (such as maps, social media feeds, or YouTube videos). Not all of these are fully controllable by us, and they might not fully meet our accessibility standards. We seek out accessible solutions and provide warnings or alternatives when third-party content has limitations.
  • PDFs and Other Formats: A few older PDF files or other downloadable resources on our site may not be fully accessible (for instance, lacking proper headings or tags for screen readers). We will provide accessible versions or assistance on request while we work to update or replace these documents.
  • Ongoing Improvements: We are in the process of implementing more enhancements, such as improved focus indicators for keyboard navigation and ensuring all form fields have appropriate labels and instructions. We address accessibility issues as part of our continuous development and quality assurance process, and we prioritize fixes that have the greatest impact on users.

If you encounter an accessibility issue not listed above, please let us know so we can investigate and resolve it.

Enforcement Procedure and Legal Framework

We are confident in our commitment to accessibility, but if you contact us with an issue and are not satisfied with our response, further help is available. The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the accessibility requirements under the Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulations 2018. Since we are not a public sector body, those regulations do not directly require our compliance; however, we embrace their principles to ensure our site is accessible.

If you remain unhappy with how we address your accessibility concerns, you can seek advice and assistance from the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS). The EASS is an independent UK service that advises the public on equality and human rights issues, including accessibility rights. They can be contacted via their website or by phone; details are available on the official EASS website.

Under the Equality Act 2010, all UK service providers (including private companies like Façade Creations Ltd) have a legal obligation not to discriminate against disabled people and to provide equal access to services. In line with this law, we will continue to make reasonable adjustments and improvements to our website. Our aim is not just to comply with the law but to truly embody best practices in accessibility, reflecting our broader company ethos that accessibility and inclusion are integral to quality service.

This Accessibility Statement is reviewed regularly and was last updated in December 2025. We are committed to ongoing improvements and will update this statement as our website accessibility evolves.
